Hooking - impendance etc.

Hi guys,

I know it's a common question, but I need a quick answer that I don't mess up my amp or my new box!

So, I have a Trace Elliot GP7SM:

And I want to hook it up to Eden Nemesis NSP410e:

Musician's Friend

Trace is 280W@8 ohms (it has two outputs). And the box is 500W@8 ohms. I presume I shouldn't buy it because I will burn the head. But is that true?

Please help...

some more specs on Eden:

Tweeter: T2004
Speakers: 4 x ES 1040XL16
Crossover: 3kHz @12 dB
Power Handling: 500W RMS
Frequency Response: 48Hz - 18kHz ±2dB
Sensitivity: 104dB SPL@1W1M
Impedance: 4/8 ohms
Dimensions: 24-3/4"W x 24-3/4"H x 16-1/4"D
Weight: 50 lbs.

IMPORTANT THING - it says - impedance 4/8 ohms. Does that mean that it's ok to play on any? if that's the case, then i guess i don't have any problems

You are ok with that combination. The speaker does not "draw" 500 watts from the amp. It's the other way around. The amp delivers its power to the speaker. It (the speaker) needs to be able to take the power it's delivered.
