| Possibly...it's tech time. Consider a cap job and maybe some tubes as part of the purchase price of an old amp. Once done, it'll run trouble-free. Make sure you use a reputable tech, some less-than-desirable characters will sell you a complete tube set whether it needs it or not. It's an easy sale and they like getting their hands on those old tubes, they were of higher quality than modern ones. Nothing lasts forever, it may indeed need tubes, just make sure it actually does. The cap job is a given, should be done to something that old for reliability's sake, whether or not it's exhibiting problems right now. It's not an expensive job. |
