How can i get this tone?!

i love the bass tone in this song at about (2:05) you can hear it good) i have a Ampeg 410 HLF, Ampeg B2R head and a Sansamp Bass Driver. can some one tell me how to dial this tone? its so rich and beefy!

Part of the sound is going to be a P-bass and a sealed cabinet with 10's in it. Your HLF is ported, if you are happy with your head great! But the SABDDI is not really going to help in getting a clean tone. Lots of people actually say Sansamps suck out your mids which is what people usually hear in the mix. Hope I helped a bit. Cheers.

a p-bass with rounds and the tone control cranked coupled with a pick and a heavy right hand technique.

Sounds like you need a P-Bass, roundwounds, a pick that you attack with a slight angle to get a grindy sound with. I'd try a flat EQ of all things, with some drive. Crank the pre-gain.
