how to connect my svt4 with b200r combo?

Sign in to disble this ad
Hi guys i have just picked up an ampeg b200r but just seeing if anyone knows the best way to run this alongside my svt4? i have svt4 running 2x4-10" but running the b200r alongside would be cool, and i could do with a little more push on my bass volume too. what are my options? do i just need a y- box? i use an active modulus bass too. Cheers guys

an A-B-Y box would work perfect for what you need. You can also use the B200R as a speaker cabinet by bypassing the amp entirely. It's a 4ohm cabinet so unless your amp can run at 2ohms this option might not work. otherwise get the ABY switch.

I run a B-100R alongside a B-15 and use my tuner pedal to split the signal since it has two outputs. Honestly though, that 4-Pro should be stupid loud through (2) 410's and I doubt you'll gain anything adding the B-200, other than making a cool looking franken-rig. If you need more low end, have you tried running your two 410's in bi-amp mode on the 4-Pro?

1+

use the 4 pro's tuner output if you aren't already using it.

I run my bass thru the tuner output(-6db) modulus bass is rather hot! But i run 2 bxt 4-10" cabs both 4ohms = 2ohms 600watt a side and it is not super loud belive it or not. I can be drowned out by the guitarist who has marshall 100 tsl. So an extra 15" just give me a little lift -)

Can i run another amp from the back of my svt4? which output would work?

i have the Sansamp BDDI and it has 2 1/4" outputs. one wet and one dry as well as the balanced line out. i have a SVT4 and a BA115T combo which i sometimes run together with the Sansamp. i love this pedal. run two amps and sends to the FOTH.

Try the tuner output that is on the back of the 4pro, but you could use a y cord from either preamp out/poweramp in (there are 2), or use an adapter from either of the 2 DI outputs (you will need an XLR to 1/4" TS adapter)

The SVT 4pro is a very versatile amp and there are several ways to accomplish what you ask. Read your manual or get one online at:

You guys are wearing earplugs I hope! Holy cow--2 4x10s and you're getting drowned out!
Maybe your guitar player could turn down a bit--problem solved.

This makes no sense at all. You should be plugging your bass into the Passive input of the amp and adjust the input gain as necessary to avoid distorsion. No active bass is "hot" enough to require plugging it into anything other than one of the designated inputs. The "active" input is for signal levels over 1 volt, which would be from something like a keyboard. The jack labeled "output" should be a clue that it is not an "input" from the instrument. Just because the jack fits dosen't mean it belongs there.

Read the owners manual if you don't know what you are doing.

Hey rick flair i read the manual and guess what- the tuner input gives -6db which is exactly what i need to crank up the gain. Anyway why would some bass amp have active and passive inputs? for a laugh? Whoooo yeah

The B200R is a nice combo, but if you're already running your SVT4 real loud, adding the B200R will result in nearly no change to your volume or the quality of your tone.

I honestly don't see the point. You're running 8 10" speakers already, with a decent amount of power behind them. If you're getting drowned out with that, your guitarist is WAY too loud or your EQ's (both you and the guitarist) are clashing.

How is your EQ set? Boost those mids!
