How to convert 8ohm output to line level?

Sign in to disble this ad
I have a Marshall MS-4 microstack (little belt clip amp)

I actually like the overdrive on it, so how would I turn 1w @ 8 ohm into line level?

If you don't understand that then it's not something you should be trying to do yourself. Besides, most of the tone of that mini amp is from the speaker, and you won't duplicate that with a line level output. I guess you could mic it.

Just get a Fuzz pedal/ Boss Metal zone. It will pretty much do the same thing.

Whirlwind used to make a passive di that would take a speaker output. I beleive that it gives you a low impedance balanced out, not line level, but you could make it work with a mic pre of some sort.

I think its called a "Director".

Or the $30 Rapco DB101SL DI.

But either of the DIs mentioned requires you to have access to the speaker leads. That seems unlikely on that little Marshall amp.

Mike it.
