Hey everyone, first post here after ghosting these forums for about a year now...
I did an extensive search on this exact question and could not find an answer.
The reason why I am asking is because some combo amps at GC still use the little mark II amps. If there is not much of a difference I'd rather buy the combo since ill be cheaper and easier to carry around. |

the picture is an LMIII, you can tell by the extra control knob.
LMIII Markbass - Little Mark III
LMII Markbass - Little Mark II

Because if you look at the specifications on the GC website. It says lil mark II | They probably haven't bothered to update their website. If you look at the Markbass site it clearly states LMIII in their combos.
On the MusiciansFriend site (same company as GC) it also says LMII, but in the picture you can clearly see the yellow knob on the amp that tells you it's an LMIII.

Hey, what are your opinions of their combo amps vs half stack setups? |

Fellow MB CMD121P user here. If you look closely, you will see the "ComboII" logo on the combo in the ad. This the LittleMarkIII head with the "combo" designation.

What I didn't like was their piezo tweeter. I'm not alone in this though many people have no issues with them. If I had to do it over again I would go with a Markbass combo or cab with a horn; for example, the CMD 121H.
From there I moved to separates, using an LMII with a variety of cabinets: Bergantino, Schroeder, Epifani. The LMII sounded great with all of them.

Kirk | What he said.
To clarify: The "Combo II" head is essentially a Little Mark III.
The original combo heads were Little Mark II's.
The Combo II/LM III also has a pre/post EQ DI button on the back.
The Combo/LM II heads are post EQ unless the internal jumper has been changed to make them pre EQ for the DI.

I have the CMD 121H combo, and I think it blows the socks off the 121P combo. Plus, the compression driver and horn sound better than the piezo. Bigger cab for more lows. I'm also running a Traveler 151P cab with it with no problems. Awesome sound.
The "Combo Head" IS a Little Mark II in mine. Later versions use the Little Mark III. They sound the same.

Awesome sound. | I really wish I had tried the CMD 121H, it sounds like it's the sweet spot between the 121P and 151P.
