How dirty can a 800rb get?

I'm looking at the GK 800rb, and other similarly priced SS amps. I want an amp that will distort and sound good with my rick 4003.

It'll get its fingernails dirty but won't do the full on belly flop into the mud.

The 800RB's a great amp, but it won't clip that much. It's actually pretty clean. Get an overdrive pedal for your 4003. Or maybe a 1001RB or one of the other GK's with an overdrive channel.

input volume at or beyond 1:00 and it gets very gritty , not a fuzz but takes it past the clean it's always called . I like that amp set like this and also think it would be a nice grit for a Ric . My first choice for built-in OD would be for a EBS HD 350 (on the cleaner side like the GK)then a Pearce pre ( smooth to insane) then the 800rb in a ss amp . But yeah a good od pedal in front of almost any bass amp would work .

It get get pretty overdriven compared to a lot of amps when you run the boost at noon or higher with fairly high master volume settings. It think it would be a great match with the Rick.

To my knowledge, the 2001RB is the only GK head that offers an overdrive channel. I believe the Fusion stuff can overdrive, but not via an actual overdrive circuit, just by pushing the gain high enough to breakup the preamp tubes.
