How do you use your SVT 3 Pro?
I'm playing around with my SVT on a regular basis, but I can't ever seem to find a tone that makes me content. I've tried a P, a J, and a PJ, but it always seems to be lame no matter what bass I try. So what bass do you use? Do you keep the tone up or down, or somewhere in the middle? What settings do you have on your preamp? I tend to favor a more light sound, something that doesn't sound too aggressive. But, either way, id like to hear what you guys like. Do you use the EQ band? What are your settings? I'd really like to try some new settings out, so your input will be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
Here are my settings I used for 15 years. I like em. Music Man Sabre. The mid toroidal is at 2nd notch from left. The rest should be apparent. EQ engaged with sweep seen even though not clicked in this pic. Bright 'in'. Ultra low and highs 'out'. Best pic I could locate. It is in storage right now.
Sweet! I'm going to test them out soon. Haha.
Here's thread from a few years back that I replied to on SVT-3Pro settings. Your bass and cabinet will have a large impact on how you set the amp. The SVT-3Pro has an amazing tonal flexibility to the point where it gets knocked sometimes for having too many bells ands whistles.
My settings are pushing the mids a good bit because I'm going into a 410HLF that has a strong low end output. Try some of these suggestions and good luck.
Your tone is in there, you just have to find the right combination. :)
