How to get at the electrics in my Peavey 2x15 cab

Sign in to disble this ad
I recently bought an old Peavey 2x15 cab, its been unused for about 2 years and has developed a slight crackle. Ive been trying to find a way to get to the wiring to check all the soldering joints and whatnot, but i cant, theres no back panel and i cant work out how to remove the mesh from the front without cutting it, which id rather not do.
Any help would be greatly appreciated

thankyou

wedge a flathead screwdriver gently into all four corners and pry them al evenly.
The grill is held in place by a pseudo velcro system made of plastic.

Once grill is removed, pull the drivers, and replace them if need be.

to replace grill, just place it in and tap the corners with a hammer .

Hope this helps

Those old Peavey cabs' grill frames were held in place by mating squares of snap-together bits (one on the cab, one on the frame in each mating location). Same idea as velcro except the grip is tighter. You have to get something slipped in behind the grill frame and give a mighty tug toward yourself. Something like a bent coat hanger, or a hoof pick. Start near one corner, close to the corner snap -- not in the center so you don't snap the grill frame.
