How make a Traynor YT-15 speaker into 4 OHM (from 16 OHM)

Sign in to disble this ad
Anyone have any idea how to make a Traynor YT-15 speaker into 4 OHM (from current 16 OHM) and whether that would be problematic to do so?
Apparently it has been done by some before.

Years Made
1966 - 1979
Cabinet Type
2x15" bass cab
Power
180 Watts pgm 16 Ohms
A decent twin-fifteen that remained in production for a long time.
Features Two of the YS-15''s Marslands wired in series for 16 Ohms so that two YT-15s could be used with the YBA-1

If two speakers were wired in series for 16 ohms, then they are each 8 ohms. Wire them in parallel.

pretty simple actually, just rewire the speakers in parallel and it should be 4 ohms.

Yeah, but what if they are both 64 ohm speakers in parallel with a dummy load? Didnt htink of that possibility, did you Bongomania?
