How much do speaker cables matter?

Sign in to disble this ad
I was using speakons, but my new head doesn't support them, so I went out and bought some speaker cables. They were $14 each for a 6 foot cable.

How much does speaker cable quality vary? Will my sound suffer from cheaper cables?

As long as you are buying cables that are a proper gauge for a heavy load and are constructed well, there will be no perceivable change between brands.

Quality only hurts once (Theft and loss being the exceptions)

Yeah they seem nice and solid. My wife will get me the brand name in a few and I'll post it.

The wire is irrelevant as long as it is large enough gauge for the length you need. 14 ga. should be good for any usage.

With higher end cables you may get better connectors, up to a point.

Rapco is a decent brand at a fair price.
