How much volume can I expect out of a Glockenklang Soul II?

I'm planning on buying a Glockenklang Soul II, but I'm wondering if it will be loud enough. I'll be using it for jazz gigs with the double bass, but also in a loud rock band. Right now I have an SWR Workingman's 4x10 (8 ohm), but buying/adding a Glockenklang 2x12 is also an option.

The drummer is loud (earplugs are definitely needed) and the guitarist is using a Randall 4x12 + head.
My current amplifier, a 400 watt SWR Workingman's, is not loud enough.

I don't really want to buy the Heart-Rock, because it weighs more than I want to carry and I don't need all the extra volume all the time.

What are your experiences with the Soul II in loud bands?

Thanks.

I've been asking myself the same question. My local music store has both Soul II and HeartRock II in stock, and I'm planning to borrow both amps this week for a rehearsal with my LOUD band.
I really fell for the sound of the HeartRock - until I tried to lift up those 19kg. That's when I started considering his little brother which is only 11kg.
Well, we'll see - next week I might be able to give you a volume review.

At 440 watts at 4 ohms it will not be any louder than your swr. Time to buy another cab perhaps?

Here's the test results I promised last week. During a rehearsal I tried 3 different amps on a pair of SWR Goliath III cabs (4x10", 8 Ohm each).

YES: Driving a 4 Ohm load, the Soul II is loud enough to make itself easily be heard in a loud band.
BUT: At high volume the sound quality degrades noticeably, even before the clipping LED of the power amp lights up.

So for myself I'm ruling the Soul II out. As I mentioned before, my band is quite loud - for a band with more decent volume, it would be my first choice.

The Heart-Rock II sounded great, and it has more than enough volume for my needs. The only reason why I did not buy it straight away was my third amp under test, a Mesa Boogie M6. Although it has some flaws (significant preamp noise even with decent treble settings, loud fan), it has such a rich and lively sound, especially at the low end. I immediately felt comfortable with it.

Haven't made my choice yet, I wish I could get them both

Another possible option ...

I have a Glockenklang BAC preamp with a powersoft poweramp, pretty light and tons of power and amazing tone?
