How old is my Vox amp?

The amp is called a Vox Escort Lead 50. I bought it of ebay for £100. Its fantastic. I love how it sounds and I also love the traditional Vox look. But I have no idea how old it is. I searched into google and I only found a Vox escort lead 30. I email some pics to Vox but they haven't got back to me. Anyone have any idea when this amp was made?

aha my bad, my phone's camera sucks and I dont have a tripod. I guess my hands are a bit shaky :P

I thought that at first, but if you take a look at "lead 50" | Flickr - Photo Sharing! (sorry, **** quality) it says "lead 50"

You could scour the voxshowroom to see if there is some info. Or email Gary at North Coast Music.

Lemme grab my VOX book....

VOX made the Lead 50 as a Guitar amplifier, in the very early 1980's.

This is when VOX was owned and made by Rose Morris.

There were Lead and Bass Models of the Escort 50.

The one you possess is the Lead Guitar Version.
