How old/what era is this Ampeg 8x10 cab from?

Only "serial number" I can seem to find is M 05748, and it's inside the left handle on the back of the cab.

A friend owns this, and is interested in trading it for some other equipment. I'm just trying to see if it's worth the trade.

I think it would be an MTI era cab, would have been made in the early to mid 80s in Japan. I think that's the only time they used those kind of handles.

I thought it was the 70's that they only used the grey front cloth?

Considering the grillcloth looks a lot less worn than the rest of the cab, I'd bet on it being a replacement.

Okay. So definitely a 80's MTI Japan model? Is this worth trading a 03'-04' Ampeg 6x10 cab and a Sans Amp Tech 21 Bass Driver DI for? I will be replacing the sans amp with the rack mount version in a month or so anyways.

This cab will be my full time workhorse and is gonna be pushed by my SVT 4-Pro.

With an SVT 4 Pro, forget it. Stick with the newer cab. The old cabs sound excellent, but they don't take much power. I believe at that time, they were rated at 400w power handling. Newer 810e's take 800w and your 610hlf takes 600w I think.
