How to overdrive my preamp?

I have been playing for only a couple years, so I hope this doesn't sound too stupid. I've got an acoustic b450 combo amp and I would really like to know how to overdrive the preamp.

Ya, turn the gain up and set the master to whatever volume you need. That is, if it's an amp that'll do overdrive. Not all do, even ones with separate master and gain.

It'll be easier if you play a bass that's higher gain, as well.

Don't forget a good pedal, like the Tech21 VT Bass or similar.
