Question How well will a Line 6 LowDown HD400 work with a Fender Bassman 8X10?

I am thinking strongly about getting the Line 6 LowDown HD400 amp head, but I don't know if it will work good with the Fender Bassman.

I don't see why it would not work well with any 8x10 cab. What are your concerns with the matchup?

Well the Line 6 runs 400 where my 8x10 runs at 600. Just wanted to make sure I didn't do something that would turn out bad.

Your 8x10 can handle 600 watts of power(according to Fender) but feeding it a max of 400 watts RMS from your Line 6 head will not do any damage and most cab makers over rate what their cabs can actually handle power wise. There is no need to exactly match up power wise cabs and heads. If you start hearing unusual noise from your cab at very high sound levels turn down the volume.

As long as you dont " clip " the head, and start blowing speakers.

Remember: You can blow the toughest speaker by running ONE watt of " square wave " through it !!.
