How would I rack a GK mb head?

Sign in to disble this ad
I've sold my rack head and Ampeg 4x10, so I'm down to nothing as far as a bass rig (the venue is covering expenses for a big benefit Saturday night so I'm renting).

So coming up on decision time. I'm about to pull the trigger on a GK 410mbe 4ohm and the mb500 for a head. Figure that should cover most gigs since we always have PA support. But, I'd sure like to be able to rack that head in a rac bag or SKB shallow rack so I can have a quick, tidy setup with my wireless receiver on half of a rack shelf along with the preamp I need for a couple of tunes where I switch to electric mandolin. Anybody heard talk of some sort of rack ear kit being available for these. The nicest part of a rack box was having everything pre-wired up.

I asked the same question to the Acoustic Image folks about how to rack mount one of their little Clarus heads and they cleverly suggested a rack tray, mounting the amp to the tray using the screw holes for the little rubber feet.

btw, i already use a rack tray for the wireless receiver and tubepac unit for mandolin. so now I'll be down to a two space shallow rack or bag, a 41 lb. cab. this new setup is going to be great for gigging by really lightening the load in and out so i can focus on the music.
