Question Humming amp...

Sign in to disble this ad
Hello, I just rented my first bass about a week ago. The amp it came with (Fender Frontman 158 Bass Amp) started making strange humming noises whenever a metal part of the instrument was not being touched. I read about "bad grounding", but since it is a rental (and I have no idea on how to fix these kinds of things(I don't even know what a "soldering iron" is >_>)) I have no idea what to do? Any suggestions? Thanks!

that symptom sounds normal to me, especially if the bass has single coil pickups.

It's a precision bass with split coil pickups.
