Hydrive 112 and 115 combo?

Sign in to disble this ad
What do you think of combining a Hydrive 112 and 115 as a stack to be used with a Hartke LH500?? Any thoughts?? Don't want a 10"...would 2 115's be better? What should I do about crossing over to put higher frequencies into the 112?

i'm a firm believer in matching cabs to keep possible phasing problems at bay, so i'd go with two of one, not one of two. i would imagine that the hydrive 112 and 115 would be a better pairing than most mixed cab rigs, but the results can be unpredictable whereas matching cabs always works. never heard the hydrive 112 but the 115 is super. i think a stack of either would be great. but crossing over works way better with cabs that are designed to reproduce a specific freq range, like lows/mids/highs, and not full range cabs such as these. you can cross them over, but it's not very efficient and i think it would be a waste of money to try it.

+1 they're all full range cabs, so using a crossover is pointless.

Move up to the lh1000 and it has a phasing knob to mix 2 cabs together!
