I'm having a hard time with a few terms used to describe bass tones. Is there a "sticky forum"(or atleast should be)of these terms? Also, I have been looking for certain tones, and have been told that what I was looking for was the opposite. For example, Modern is to scooped mid, whereas Round is to __________??? Any help/additonal definitions would be appreciated.

Part of the problem is that many of these terms are very subjective. I think we generally agree on what "scooped" sounds like, and maybe "bright". I think there is much less agreement on what "Fat" and "Round" sound liek (but they both probably mean lots of low end). Then when you get to the really subjective terms - warm, thick, punchy, clean, rich, full, balanced, etc. - there's very little agreement.

Do you have any soundclips? A few days ago I was thinking the same as you. I sent a couple of clips off to a fellow TBer for some feedback. Turned out we were very much on the same page re how we heard and described things. Very cool.

Trying to describe tone is very hard. Given your example, modern can mean scooped, but can also describe almost any bright tone (i.e. with lots of treble).
