I have an 'Ashdown ABM500'.. should I get a 'Hartke HA3500'?

Sign in to disble this ad
as a backup amp?

Hard for anyone but you to answer. If you like me always have PA support of some sort, I would think a DI box would make more sense.

If on the other hand your rig carries it all, a backup head is a good idea. The HA3500 is probably as good as any, but personally I would go for something very small and very light weight. GK MB200?

^ohh, those GK MB200 are very small.

I've got a good deal for a Hartke, and I know how it sounds. Actually I always keep the SABDDI on, so if something happen, I can use the DI out and connect directly to the PA support.
But, it's hard to beat the price I'm getting with the Hartke.

can't hurt to have a backup you can always use it for rehearsals. If you are getting a good deal why not.

As as backup, why not? To replace your Ashdown, I'd say no, you are stepping backwards.
