I've been thinking about getting a combo amp for a while, and I found a Carvin BR615C at the Carvin E-bay store. They had a factory blemished model for $449.00 and I figured that sounded just about right.

Soooo......

I brought it up over dinner tonight, and she said go for it!

I think a little 64lb combo amp is going to be just the ticket for most of my uses! We have a thing coming up in a couple of weeks opening up for LA Guns, and I am so going to love being able to not only hear myself, but also getting on and off stage in record time!

I'm kinda geeked!!

1) I'll be giving her a little something extra!

2) Yeah, I thought they were dead too, but they're on the bill. I'll report back if any of them aren't wearing shoes along with a suit that's split down the back.

Meh.

It's a $450.00 amp, not a new Fodera!

Although..........

I beg to differ. _I_ clearly have the best wife ever.

I bought some Dimarzio pickups for my Fender a couple of weeks ago. When they arrived, my wife whipped out her soldering gun and installed them for me.

Nope, I've got the best wife -
  • She surprised me with a Lakland 55-94
  • Paid for over half of a Ken Lawrence Brase 5
  • finally - has put up with me for over 33 years....

It's actually not that big a deal from her perspective. She's an art teacher, and does soldering for various projects (jewelry, I think, and stained glass). All I had to do was read the directions and she took care of the rest.

I should have taken some pictures, though ...

Some wives are really angels in disguise. Mine has actually gone with me to pick out new basses and gear, and that's been for the past 39 years.

Nope, mine wins, or at least ties.

Recovered my ampeg cab grills and bought new speakers last year, and then the other day at 8.5 months pregnant, finished tiling the den. She didn't feel like sitting there so out came the thinset and the tile saw. Pregancy isn't slowing her down, no grumpy moods, no anything. She's the best.
