I just met my soul-amp.

UPS dropped off a GK MB212 around 4 today. I wasn't planning on opening it until tomorrow when I'll get a solid chance to give it go. Then my boys came home and convinced me to at least unpack it. Then, well at least plug it in. Might as well get the Ray. A few minutes later, we picked our jaws up off the ground and smiled.

I truly can't believe the clean, brilliant punch it delivers. Astounding. I'm at a point in my life I'm not sporting big rigs, but dayum, does this thing sound like one.

I didn't even get a chance to really play around with it, just set the EQ and boost at 12, gain and master at 9, horn, contour and limiter on. Unreal. Dead silent, no hiss, perfect response. I'm in love.

Thanks for all the help guys, I ended up with the 212 because of a 10% coupon for Music123, I figured the extra headroom couldn't hurt for $30 more.

I recently got one of these as well, I will NEVER haul around heavy gear again! This amp weighs less than the head I was using. Take good care of it, I agree.....the best amp Ive ever owned.

Of course I was kidding with that remark. ^ ^ ^

I'm really glad you like your MB212. I had a similar reaction when I got mine...and there's already an MB210 here. Just couldn't believe all that sound was coming out of a little combo! The way the MB212 handles a B string is astonishing...and I thought the MB210 was a bad boy down low!!

Let us know more when you get a chance to play with it some more.

Not at all, you were right there in support.

I'll have the house to myself today, so I'll try to knock some pictures off the wall as part of the run out. I want to put all concerns ever mentioned in threads to rest in my mind. Have to arrange a DI out for next week.

The final push for the 212 was some write up somewhere (I wish I could find it) that broke them down by sound and when it got to the 212, it basically said if you have a Music Man and want "that" sound, this is it. Sure as hell is.

Thanks man.

The DI thing has been WAY overblown (on the internet?). If you have any trouble removing the XLR cable (and you probably won't) just use the tip of your 1/4" cable to depress the latch on the XLR. That's it.

That's funny! I thought it gave "that sound" for the Jazz Bass!! That's the mark of a great amp I think.

Enjoy!
