I just stumbled onto the greatest rig of my lifetime

Sign in to disble this ad
I just got a hold of a 500W Dr. Bass 1 x 15" cabinet with a horn. I ran my GK 700RB II through the cabinet and it sounds incredible. I haven't even really sat down and tweaked it yet, either. The guy who sold it to me said that he also has a matching 2 x 12" cabinet and after hearing the richness of this rig, I am definitely going back to get it. I am getting rid of every other single piece of bass and drum gear that I own. This sounds way better than the Ampeg stack that I just sold.

Grab it. You'll be in an elite club of people who actually got their hands on a Dr. Bass cabinet, and you'll have two!

I just spent part of my weekend adding some bracing and batting to my Dr. Bass 115LF. Great cab (those little tweaks notwithstanding). Welcome to the club!

Welcome to the club, Bolophonic!

I have two Dr. Bass cabs, a 2460 and a 1580, and they sound great together!

I already dumped an Ampeg stack that was great, but I wasn't in love with in order to get this gear. Everything else is a bunch of beat-up Peavey odds and ends and busted Hartke combos... stuff I will not need to be messing around with now that I will be playing though the Dr. Bass rig!

Have you had a bad experience with these cabs?

to the OP, to speed up your search, here's the gist. The guy running Dr. Bass has basically left a LOT of people out and up without the cabs thats he's taken money for. there's a giant thread about it, plus another thread where John Turner is compiling the actual number of people who haven't received cabs. enjoy the used ones you got. You arent getting any news ones, plain and simple.

Also: try searching for "Dr. Bass" on this forum and see what kind of results you get.

fair enough but make sure to use the search at the top (google powered) not the "search in thread" I find that the google one yields far more results, and better ones too.

If bolophonic, the OP, likes the cabinet, then he likes it, and apparently he does a lot. I've owned three different Dr.Bass cabs and they've all been good. The two I own now are outstanding.

Regardless of what people think about 2010 Dr.Bass, they built good cabs in their time. This is about the quickest way I can think of to get a thread shut down- start this biching (sic on purpose) about Dr.Bass. bolophonic did not start this thread for complaints. The mods- particularly Kelly Lee- will take care of it if it continues.

The cabs that are out there are good. Period. That isn't affected by what's going on otherwise.

Thank you to my new friends for their passive-aggressive attempts to get me up to speed on my new rig. Like MichaelVee said, the cabs are good, period.

I don't think anyone was saying anything bad about them. I've never used them, but have heard good things per reviews. Its hard to not represent the obvious situation thats going on with them though. Customer service and how the product functions are separate. the product functions well, you like it. AWESOME. I get happy for people who find gear they love after using something else for a while. Ive been there, its a happy place I was just saying you probably arent going to be buying "new" dr. bass stuff anytime soon, but you can go used of course. congrats on the score man
