I like the Shuttle 9.0 better than the STM600

I used to have a Shuttle 6.0 and sold it because I thought it sounded a bit thin and the top end somewhat brittle. I went on and got a hold of a Streamliner 600. Although a very nice amp, I felt the low end lacked some definition and the form factor was a bit bulky. On my local Craigslist I found a Shuttle 9.0 like new with bag for a steal. I figured if I did not like it I could flip it and not get hurt. I had read that the 9.0 had more low end and found that to be very true. Also, the highs seem smoother than the 6.0 I had before, plus the extra headroom is always nice. I guess my point is that for me anyway the Shuttle 9.0 seems more versatile than the Streamliner and can be had for a good price at the moment. I had to share...

I've had my 9.0 since like the first week it was released i think, and i just can't imagine wanting any other head at this point. True and clear sound, crazy light weight, amazing customer service (from what i hear, i never used it).

I've found that every amp/cab combination sounds a bit different. What kind of cabs are you using?

I also have a single 15" cab loaded with an Eminence 3015 that I use for small rooms or with the 2x12 when I don't have PA support or outdoors. I am looking forward to rocking the stack with 900 watts!

good

I kept my 9.0 and it's currently backup to the streamliner but I fully understand why a slapper or a jazz guy etc might prefer the shuttle 9.0 Both are great. As these things happen I might use the 9.0 more and more as specific venue room dynamics etc enter in to the equation. ( gotta get the band giggin again 1st)

I'm not a slapper or a jazz guy really. One band is classics like Hendrix, Petty, the Dead, outlaw country, etc. and the other is variety covers 60's thru current. The low notes on the Streamliner just sounded muddy to me. Maybe it's high end hearing loss from 25 yrs. of playing ;(
