I love my amp guy! (Vintage Ampeg content)

He called me up about 50 minutes ago because he knew I needed an old CTS SVT speaker. He offered me a set of 4 he just took in on trade saying make an offer. After realizing that I really don't know what to offer on these guys, he said $50 for the set all testing good.

Here's where they are already [edited 5:20 pm]. This Marshall guitar 4x10 didn't get much action until I realized that it's got very similar inner dimensions to a vintage cab 810. The bracing is alright, I'll probably separate the top/bottom into 210 chambers and add some lining later. A resonating cracked plastic handle is the problem at hand. Found a new one at PE!

Three '69's with replacement dust caps, one repaired cone, and one '74 with a reglued cap. I paid $50 (ebay price) for my replacement locally from a friend of his who I guess he says overcharged me. Oops!

[Edited at 6:00 pm:] I know all of the warnings on speakers, cabs, etc by heart by now. I know that this could have bombed but it's sounding oh so good right now. No weird resonances or rattles besides the cracked handle. It's not boomy either. I think I just found myself a baby 810 flatback! Crazy thing is, I'm not done with the project yet. I've still got handles and some internal upgrades to go!

Seems like a great idea and fun project!

Looks like the cab would lend itself well to a restoration.

The speakers like the equivalent cab size of about 1 cubic foot each. A shelf or pair of shelves giving you this dimension should make it sound very nice.
