Hi guys.
Well the title kind of says it all but I'll expand a bit.
My amps are DB750, VTBP-201S or Kern/CA9, Streamliner 900.
I really like the NV412 for all these amps, but I'd like something a bit easier to carry, for some of my gigs. I wouldn't mind it being a bit more modern, but not much. I'm not into a very modern sizzling top end, but I do like a a big fat bottom end.
Bring all you good suggestions :-)
Thx

I replaced my NV610 with it, not the same but you can EQ it reasonably close. Won't get the sealed cab thing going but pretty punchy.
If you want even smaller maybe the HS210. |

And it's needs to be pretty loud too. I've never been a big fan of 2x10 cabs. I have an aggie gs210, and on it's own it's way to midrangy for me.
What kind of fullness does the ae410 have compared to the NV412.
And what about other brands. Accugroove, Genz, Bagend or something else?

That's around half the weight of my NV412. I think that difference would be enough to make me pick the lightweight cab, for some of the gigs.
Oh yeah. I'm not 100% on this, but a single cab solution would probably be nice.

Also, I saw a thread in here where someone used the Fdeck high pass filter to roll off some of the low frequency on the AE212 - they compared it favorably to a sealed cab sound. |

And how about other brands?

Also, given that the AE line is on the outs, maybe Berg will have a new offering more to your ideal in the near future

I'll read up on the fearful. But I'm not sure it's easy to get hold on one in denmark (Europe).

It was discontinued in part due to the number of players buying the AE cabs over the HS. But the AE's are being discontinued because of the increasing cost of neodymium. So this may open the door to the HS line coming back into prominence.
At any rate, both cancellations were relatively recent, so there may be some of each line still available for a while.

The shop owner told me it was to go along with their new tube heads. Sounds real good, does the vintage thing very well. Never played the berg, but would guess there in the same league. I have a avatar TB that is fantastic if your looking to save a buck, very different from the NV though. |

| | Registered User | | | | | This is a good topic. I am also very set on my NV610; and, in spite of a bunch of money spent, not so impressed with the smaller cabs.
My current thoughts are: in the 55 pound range, I like the SWR Miller Golight 410. In the 30+ pound range I like the Audiokinesis cabs.
I'm currently using Schroeders for the smaller schlepps. They're ok, even pretty amazing; but opposite end of the tonal universe. | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | |
