I need confirmation guys ;D

Can someone approve that it`s Ok to use Ampeg 4x10(450w 8ohm) with Ashdown ABM 500 EVO III (575w 4ohm). And nothing will burn ? ;D
I know its stupid question, but I just need to be sure, because once i used Ashdown 4x10(350w 8ohm) with Hartke Ha5000(500w cant remember ohms) and as the result cables inside of cab burned.
I`m really looking forward to hear something from you guys.
Merry christmas

Yes, it's fine.

There must have been something else wrong with the Ashdown/Hartke rig you tried, because that should have been fine as well. Were you using a speaker cable to connect the two, or an instrument cable?

Have a look at the FAQ at the top of the page for more info.

If your head is 575 watts at 4 ohm it will only be putting out about 300 to 350 watts through an 8 ohm enclosure anyways.

You can burn ANY rig up if you ask it to do more than it's capable of.

Use your ears. If your cab sounds like it's ready to explode and farting out, you're hitting it too hard. If your amp is clipping and spiking, your pushing it too hard.

Absent those conditions, you're probably fine.

In reality, the knob placement is not too telling you much about the amount of power you are actually getting out of the head. It's all about what you are feeding the rig. Besides that, sounds like the head was screwed up to begin with. That can happen any time, definitely not often though.

Actually that could be possible, cause something was wrong with that head. Sometimes when i played it just switched off for like 30 seconds. I thought that its from overheating, cause that head was kinda old. (4-5 years) I didnt know that it could affect the cab ;/

...:
Flippant and utterly redundant answer:

No nothing will burn—if both units are in good working order and used wisely.
