At least in my opinion.
Earlier this year I picked up a Peavey TNT 160 and have been playing through it for about 6 months. It sounds okay and makes a great practice amp/backup amp.
I'm now playing in a band and wanted to get something better and easier to carry. A few months ago I picked up a USA made Peavey TVX 210 for $105. Yesterday I picked up a Fender Bassman 400 head for $150. I now have a decent and really affordable rig.
$255 strikes me as quite fair...

Interestingly, I played in a band for years (as a drummer) with a bassist who used the same head and I always loved his tone. Now I'm figuring out how to dial it in.

You have a good serviceable rig that will probably far outlast and out perform any New bass amp you could purchase for twice what you paid for that rig.

You should try putting the 2x10 on its side so the speakers sre vertical, i always found 2x10 cabs to sound better that way, as do alot of people. When you get a second 2x10, then you can try the vertical 4x10 setup! |

You get better dispersion that way. A second cab atop the first is a very valid system, see my avatar.

I add a Yorkville 115 cab underneath it to a) put the combo's speakers closer to ear level and b) add a bigger, room-filling sound. So far I am super impressed with my used amp purchase, as it has rung out solo against a 6-piece heavy metal band where everyone else was jacked into the 1,800 watt PA
Peace,
Greg
