I ordered one of these ;

Sign in to disble this ad
http://www.rcf.it/en_US/products/pro...ies/art-902-as

To go with my amp;
http://www.rcf.it/en_US/web/rcf/prod...ries/art-310-a

I either use the 310 alone , or IEM , but I had a couple of gigs lately where I couldn't use IEM and the 310 wasn't enough. So I'm gonna have the option of adding up this sub.

Can't wait !
(It's BO for 4 weeks)

Let us know how the sub works out. Looks killer!

Perfect system for modeling any amp out there. Clean to full on dirt and any volume level.

I have to question how well a speaker system designed for AV presentation use will hold up under the demands of an electric bass. Your total cone count will be a 12, a ten and a tweeter. Even with a 1KW amp driving the 12 there is only so much cone travel available.

Still it is a novel approach, I really hope it works out for you. Keep us informed.

I have no problem With my 310 and had no problem with the srm450 i used for 5 years before that.
A sub designed for a PA Will be able to handle any program material thrown at it. A Bass signal alone or a Bass signal In a mix , I don't see what's the difference for a speaker....

Don't mean offense Paul, but go check out the rcf.it site and all the measurements/charts published on their cabinets. This is pro audio FOH systems.

Bass cabinets typically have no published measurements and charts. The size of the speaker has little to do with how well it works in a well designed cabinet.

So , it took them 3 months for the delivery !!!!
The distributor was probably waiting to have a hole lot of stuff to order to fill the container

Anyways , I have it and it is exactly what I expected it to be;
Small / light / powerfull. Very powerfull !!!!

It does not have the low end of the big 18" EV sub I use to have but it's half the weight and 2 times smaller. A perfect complement to the ART310A.
With the top it makes a 1350watts full range kit , weight 90 pounds.

The VB99 synth patches are very happy !

I have a big outside/big stage gig next week , can't wait to push it a bit

I have one , but I'm not sure for the height. I'll try a couple of things.

You're making bass amps obsolete!
Or playing all bass amps with one rig.
Either way keyboards can't have all the fun of high sound quality gear.

A big outside gig yesterday , and I could put it to test.
Didn't have to limit stage volume so I could drive it and it sounds really good , more of a "mid field" throw , but eh , that's usually what lows are all about , right ? (and long throw)

A definite keeper.

I don't use the amp sims of the VB.

Except when I have to "imitate" something on a particular song.

After a couple of months of use:

Wow

First time I have that good transportability/big sound ratio !

There is a lot of choice in the PA world , you guys should have a listen.

Ok a little rant , not against the RCF but against the canadian distributor.
I ordered the cover to go with the sub , it's been three months now......

I wanted to get another 310a to be able to use it as a PA for the smaller gigs of my trio , and checked out for one here and it is sold 600$ everywhere , and 450$ in the US.
That's 150$ difference !!!!!!!
The dollar being at par , I can't conceive that the US distributor would pay his boxes 150$ less than the canadian distributor ???

These guys (in Toronto) are sleeping at the wheel ........

So I ordered one from the states. Eff them !
