Meet the original booteek amp.
Made in Quebec by Denis Rozon. He made guitar amps and now high end stereo's.
Turns out, he only made 2 or three of these.
Its a 2 channel tube amp with a footswitchable boost. Boost control on the back where the switch plugs in.
Man, I have been trying to get that Jack Bruce cranked SVT tone (at manageable levels) for years! I've tried every pedal and they never quite sound as good in the mix.
Been thru probably a dozen amps and never found a tone I really really like.
This thing is awesome. Two totally independant channels, each with 2 volume/gains. Plus, what makes it really special, each channel has a parametric EQ that can be switched on or off.
There is no tone in my head I cannot get with this.
(Jazz bass, Stingray are my 2 main basses)
The quest is over!
When I got it, one of the 6550's was dead and I jammed with only 2 of them (I got the OK from the builder) and it was still awesome!
Just a tad more headroom on the clean channel and I will be in heaven.
Just had to share/gloat.
Thanks for looking

I splurged and found another pair of GE 6550's for 100 bucks on eBay.
Can't wait to get them and use the full power!

I was told by the seller, his bass player paid 2000$ for it in 1990.

I just figured out how to set the size at 600x480 so I can at least upload them.
Here are a couple of the face plate.
Theres a switch that makes both channels on at once, thats for late at night when you are really getting annoyed at your guitar player....you also hit the boost on the footswitch....BALLS TO THE WALLS!!!!

But with image hosting on flickr or wherever, you can scale your pics to decent sizes and post them inline using that little gadget to dump the link URL into. Welcome to Flickr - Photo Sharing |

I use Photobucket for no particular reason, works fine for me, others hate it with a passion and use something else like Imageshack.

I guess I'm lucky to even have gotten pics to upload.
Edit mode?
But I really do appreciate the help. I really like this site.
I'm so happy about this amp, I was thinking of sharing the joy, and making a donation to my fellow TB'ers. I'll post it in the Accessories, but for now, if you are reading this post, I dug out a box of original "Daka Ware Chicago" chicken head knobs.
I've been hoarding these things forever and was thinking that rather than sell them for a few bucks, I would give back to the TB'ers that have helped me so much. Pm me if you want some..free shipping.
Mods...can I mention this here?

Edit mode? | When you pushed the "Quote" button (by moving the mouse/trackpad arrow on the screen over the virtual button, and clicking the actual button on said mouse/trackpad) in the lower right-hand corner of my post, you went into edit mode. When you do that, the pixies in your computer load a toolbar just above the area you type into. Amongst the little widgets represented there is the one shown to you by greenboy. When you press it (see directions above), a window opens, in which you type the Unique Resource Locator (URL, interwebs address) of the picture you wish the pixies to show the rest of the TalkBass community.
Hate me yet?

"...And Saint Attila raised the hand grenade Rozon up on high, saying, "O LORD, bless this Thy hand grenade Rozon that with it Thou mayest blow Thine enemies to tiny bits, in Thy mercy." And the LORD did grin and the people did feast upon the lambs and sloths and carp and anchovies and orangutans and breakfast cereals, and fruit bats, and..."
Amen.
