I think I messed up my GK1001rb-II

After a night of playing my GK and my Avatar cab too hard (blew a speaker), my GK head doesn't sound right anymore.

I'm getting a hiss out of the speakers (tested on 2 diff cabs) when nothing is plugged in. The amp sounds okay when played through, but this is a noise i've never heard.

I had it looked at at a GK repair shop and they said nothing is wrong...

any ideas?

if you continued to play through the cab with the blown speaker, you may have been playing with an impedence mismatch to the amp. I'm not familiar with the GK stuff but you could look into it.

It could also be a function of the cabs you tested (versus the avatar cab)

and of course it could just be that you never noticed it before.

what kind of cabs did you test it through ('tested on 2 diff cabs')?
