I think the tweeter on my cab doesn't work, how to test it separately?

Even with the highs turned full on both, bass and amp, those sharp highs doesn't sound, (just a little) not even when i slap.. it will be damaged? there any way to take it out and test it separately?

The Cab: Eden Nemesis EN410 tweeter T2004 (In case)

You should be getting some serious hiss out of the tweeter with that much high end going on. Could be the diaphragm is shot.

turn the attenuator for the tweeter up, then down. if you hear no difference, something is wrong. but before you go buying replacements, pull it out and make sure it's still plugged in.

There's no attenuator for the tweeter, it's like direct wired. i'll do

As long as everything is connected, the next thing to try is the diaphragm. I had one go out on an old Eden cab I owned, and on one of my current EA cabs. Contact Eden and they should get you one, or tell you where to buy one. They should be inexpensive and it's an easy fix. I wouldn't buy a replacement horn until you try this.

No, the next thing to look for is if the horn has a protection lamp. If it blows then your tweeter will not work. It should be mounted on the crossover.

WIth the treble on your bass and amplifier turned all the way up, and without playing any notes, get your ear next to the tweeter and turn up the master volume--you should hear plenty of hiss. If not, the causes in order of likelihood are (1) a loose tweeter wire, (2) a burned out fuse as BassmanPaul suggested, then (3) a blown tweeter diaphragm.

You were rigth, i found the lamp broken, and i did replace it, but nothing happens.. i was thinking in takeing of the tweeter and bring it to a audiocar store, i've seen they test the tweeters they sell with a machine before the customer buy it.. good idea??

Easy way for tweeters, play a CD into your cab with all the low end and mids rolled off and the treble jacked. If you can't hear a lot of cymbals and high-hat you know the tweet isn't there. Of course it really doesn't tell you whether a wire is loose inside, or a high-pass/crossover component blown, or the diaphragm itself.

Right on Paul. Forgot about the Eden/Nemesis cabs and the protection lamp.
