I took the plunge!!! (Crown power amp and 2x 212 Aguilar). Crossover Question

Sign in to disble this ad
So I bought a crown XLS 2000, and a 2nd 2x12 Aguilar cab.

It sounds ridiculous.

Here is my question:
My pre amp has a cross over function. I am assuming I should bypass it, and just run in stereo?

The Crown power amp has some default cross over settings from what I understand. I am new to 2x cabs/ crossover settings. Can anyone make a recommendation on how to set it up best?

Thanks Ronny. It sounds fantastic so far, although I haven't been able to sit down for a few hours and perfect the sound yet.

Any feedback on what do with the crossover?

Unless you've got a dedicated mid, high, or sub box, bypass your crossover and run both your cabinets full range.

Great amp, you'll love it. It isn't completely necessary, but I would put a high pass filter at 30 hz or so to filter out any subsonic frequencies.

Also are those 8 ohm cabs? You could bridge the amp to get the most out of it.
