I want only 1 cab.

Here's the deal. I want to own only 1 cab, and the 2 that I'm considering are either the Berg HS410, or the NV610. I currently have a Hartke HX410, which sometimes doesn't cut it volume wise, and an Ampeg 810, which obviously can handle just about anything, but can be almost impossible to get to some stages we play especially doing summer fairs. I play modern country music in various sized venues. 2 weeks ago we played to 100 people in a bar, and last weekend we played to 9000 opening for Mark Wills. We always have PA support. I use a NYC Sadowsky PJ5 and either an '73 SVT or a 3 PRO. I've read about both of these cabs, but I would like to see if I can get some additional info.

Berg AE410 over the HS410

But if the NV610 is an option for you, that would be phenomenal. In my Honest Opinion

Is the Berg 6x10 that much easier to schlep than the SVT? The both are bigger than I'd want to deal with...

I too have heard and seen nothing but praises when it comes to the Berg 610. You could go for the Berg 410 if space, size, and weight are really important to you, plus you say you always have PA support. However the 610 would be better for that just in case situation and like I as well as others have said the cab is absolute all around gem.

Go for the NV610 if you can get one. Moving it around is remarkably easy. I almost always have some PA support in addition, but I played an outdoor festival last summer and the sound guy said he ended up dialing me way back because the cab alone (with my DB750) sounded massive on its own.

Go for the the NV if that is a practical size for you.
410's are the most difficult to schlep, IMO

NV610 for sure. I've heard one locally and I really dug it.

Of those 2 cabs, I'd get the NV610 as well. I want one.

810 takes up pretty much the same area on stage as a 410... Is it the height you're worried about for the stage?

NV610 is a most awesome cab, and would surely cover ALL your needs.

The NV610 is basically IME a big 410. It's really quite easy to move about and at right at or under 100lbs isn't too heavy.

The berg 610 is actually quite small (only 36h x 24w x 15d vs 48h x 28w x 16d for the modern ampeg 810E and 40h x 24w x 16d for ampeg's 610 cab). The tens are packed in really close together. There is one in my bands practice space (belongs to the band we share with) and I was surprised at the size of the thing. I mean it's no ultra light 12/6 or anything, but I was just really surprised seeing that in comparison to my gigantic B25 cab.

How is the 810 hard to get on stage? Weak band members do not want to help you? It will be the same footprint on stage as your other suggestions, and will stand taller too. An 810 hoisted up stairs is not too exciting, but why spend more money when you already have your solution?

Transportation an issue?
