I've had this thing for 8 years & its just awesome... I can get my Single H Sterling to sound pretty close to a P bass & no other amp I've ever tried can do that. I love the footswitch for the compressor, mute, enhance (which I use to maintain tone between pick & finger songs). The LEDs to show your input level is great. The compressor works fantastic, dual control is crucial.
Tube? Never use it... as well as boost
Love the DI level in the front.
My EQ is pretty flat, just 1 or 2 clicks in either direction make a huge difference. The midrange control with the semi-parametric EQ gives the diversity I need.
After all the years I still have no desire to buy anything else. Having the versatility that it does I also haven't needed to buy another bass.
The new rage is light and Eden has had its problems of late I guess but I really think it would be a disservice to look past this preamp.
Anybody else stopped their trading, buying & selling amps years ago due to their Navigator?

I hope to get a Navigator someday - killer pre-amps, for sure. |

Anybody else stopped their trading, buying & selling amps years ago due to their Navigator? | I have been playing a navigator for about 8 years as well. I did try just about every preamp out there before settling down to the Navi. I have used it with different power amps including a Crown MacroTech 1200 and now the QSC PLX2 1804.
I run Epifani UL410 S1 cabs and a DR Bass 12-15 sometimes. I can get old school sound all night long, or use the enhance dial and go modern sizzle_thump with the tap of a button. No EQ change needed!
Best of luck with your pre and may you get another 8 years without any headaches or troubles.

The EDEN WT550 has more of the Navigator features... just gotta carry an extra bag to the gig, no big deal!

The WT-800 is just amazing... The Nav is a great preamp no doubt amazingly, given the incredibly rich feature set, they actually missed one. A critical one at that ... a freakin' dimmer for all those bloody LED's! the nav can double as a landing strip as well as a channel strip

And is it pretty light too.....12+ years before the lightweight amps come into the spotlight.
I really dont carry it along with with my rack as a spare, but if the Navi ever took a dump, I could use this amp while the other was getting fixed. Actually, I used the Time Traveler as a preamp before, going into a MacroTech poweramp and it was so full and warm, complete in the entire bass freq spectrum. It would be hard for me to give up the TT as well as my Navi.....Some of that older Eden gear just cant be replaced, kind of like 4Mal's 800A.
