I wish AMPEG would build an amp head...

...that LOOKED like a classic SVT, but housed a micro amp head.
That way we could get that HUGE classic head LOOK with about 120 pounds LESS weight.

I play in a classic 60's 70's tribute band, and it would help with the overall vibe.

I mean they could even just make an empty head that would just be used as a sort of rack for a D-Class head.

Anyone have thoughts?

OK maybe I should be scared...

Why the heck would you want that? That Streamliner you have is way better than anything Ampeg puts put

Just find a broken one, hollow everything out of it and slip your micro inside it.

As an added bonus you could start the night by juggling the empty head unit, thus ensuring that every man jack in the room thinks you are the god of musculature. Win-Win scenario.

They did make the SVT450H.

It was not class D and still weighed 44 lbs, but that is still like half the weight of a real SVT.

An untrained eye wouldn't notice the difference.

The other option you have is buying a completely broken SVT, stripping the guys out, and having a tech wire the controls and input to a PF inside.

You could always put a magnifying glass in front of a Micro VR...

This is assuming that any non-bass player knows how much an SVT weighs. My Peavey VB-2 weighs about half what an SVT weighs and my drummer couldn't believe how much it weighed when he picked it up.

The SVT 350 or 450 are SS internals, built inside a SVT Head Box. There are also a few other odd ball Ampegs that are the same. THe SS internals will make the head alot lighter and able to carry by one person.

Also, Fliptops.com sells SVT head boxes empty. You can rig just about anything into them.

Or you could go out and buy a stage prop SVT and not expect a company to cater to your acute need

As mentioned above.

That's kind of my point! I love the sound of my STM-900, but the look on stage is a little "light" Does that make sense?

You could piece one together with parts from Fliptops.net . But everyone will know once you turn it on.

Just start hitting the gym every day and after a month you'll wonder why people are giving you weird looks as you carry your SVT in one hand and your bass in the other

I wonder how much it would weigh?

What is Pan and Screws mean?

What would the internal dimensions be?

It would be cool!

The micro would likely be small enough for you to also use the rest of the SVT head to store a 6 pack and a samitch!

I just think it would be a cool idea. If I could somehow get the external controls to work with my STM-900, that would be cool!
