| | I love my BALLS! | | Join Date: Nov 2007 Location: Warwick, NY | | | I wish AMPEG would build an amp head... ...that LOOKED like a classic SVT, but housed a micro amp head.
That way we could get that HUGE classic head LOOK with about 120 pounds LESS weight.
I play in a classic 60's 70's tribute band, and it would help with the overall vibe.
I mean they could even just make an empty head that would just be used as a sort of rack for a D-Class head.
Anyone have thoughts?
OK maybe I should be scared...

As an added bonus you could start the night by juggling the empty head unit, thus ensuring that every man jack in the room thinks you are the god of musculature. Win-Win scenario.

It was not class D and still weighed 44 lbs, but that is still like half the weight of a real SVT.
An untrained eye wouldn't notice the difference.
The other option you have is buying a completely broken SVT, stripping the guys out, and having a tech wire the controls and input to a PF inside. |

Win-Win scenario. | This is assuming that any non-bass player knows how much an SVT weighs. My Peavey VB-2 weighs about half what an SVT weighs and my drummer couldn't believe how much it weighed when he picked it up. |

Also, Fliptops.com sells SVT head boxes empty. You can rig just about anything into them.

I wonder how much it would weigh?
What is Pan and Screws mean?
What would the internal dimensions be?

The micro would likely be small enough for you to also use the rest of the SVT head to store a 6 pack and a samitch!
