Iam the guy who had the problem with my guitar player. Well since I fired my first band , after I finish out this last month with them I got to thinking. Why do I need all this stuff now and all the problems. So why not sell my Head and Cab and go with one of the higher wattage combos, such as the Ampeg BA600 are the new Hartke Hydrive 410 are something. I could get rid of my SWR 700 and my Schoreder 310212. The Hartke Hydrive 410 look good. Could you guys suggest something. Iam going to start playing more blues and jazz as soon as I finish the year out with this band are they find another bass player they have until Jan.1st Can you suggest a good higher power combo. My rig is in good shape my schoreder cab is like very good shape, but heavy. Its good to be free.

I think the questions will be how big are the rooms you'll be playing and how loud the rest of the band will be and whether you'll have PA support (and at what audience head count). However, might want to wait until you've gotten settled into whatever you latch onto next. Sometimes things don't go to plan.

I agree with that. You have to be careful how much you downsize. There are smaller Schroeder cabs and they are still pretty light. The 310212 is heavy bulky cab and I can understand why you don't want to deal with it.

Wait until the next band and go from there.

Combos are limiting - a micro head and a cab or two is much more versatile and can actually be easier to transport IME. Both GB and GK have helpful folks on here and the Shuttle 6.0 or MB500 can do most any gig .

Wait... How did "i am leaving, it was his band" become, "I am the guy who fired his band" ?? LOL

I guess its all in your perspective.

But anyway, i wouldnt go the combo route. Heavier than separate components. And I'd check craigslist, people are always having buyers remorse and dumping good gear.

Combos almost always compromise on cab size as a concession to portability. What's lost as the result of that compromise is low end response and output.

The fired the band was just a joke, I just got tired of the hassle with the guitar player. It was is band. I got tired of him and the drummer getting drunk before the gig was over are high.

I do not want to play big gigs again. I want to play in a little band playing blues and jazz. Maybe in coffee shops and such. Also I would like to play some contemporary stuff with the same band in churches. Most churches have a good P.A. that I could just DI out. If I change my mind later, I will do something else I guess. Ive been looking at the new TC electronic BG500,and the new Hartke H5410. Both are under $1000.00.
