ibanez promethean bass amps.......

Sign in to disble this ad
I was just on the ibanez website and i had a look at their bass amps. the promethean range looked quite good. the combos had detachable heads so you could switch it to a different cabinet. does anyone have any experience of these amps? i would consider buy one but i dont want to waste my money on something that could be a pile of crap.

I recommend. Very loud for their size and a thick tone.
Not the best amp on Earth but an obsolute bargain at this price.
They don't feel very sturdy though, although I haven't seen people having issues with them.

Do a search. There's quite a few threads and at least one mega thread. I have had the combo for about a year now. The amp itself has worked perfect. The 10" speaker was replaced under warranty without hassle. Some people have complained about long power ups, but these seemed to to fixed under warranty. I would say there isn't any more reliablity complaints than any other amps. There are also a couple of good sound comparisions on you tube

The promethean was my second choice, to the tc electronic rh 450.
It has a really cool old school sound to it. and easy to use features.

Absolutely love mine. It's my first micro so i can't offer comparisons to others available, but i can tell you it covers all the tones i need for pop/rock. It's tiny and all i need to take for pub gigs in a three piece band. No problem whatsoever keeping up with a loud drummer.
