Ibanez Promethean head: Sudden crackle

Hi all.
Recently my Ibanez Promethean head (part of 110 combo) started making a horrible crackling noise. It comes and goes and occurs with multiple different cabs.

Another sudden recent issue, which may or may not be related, is that around the same time the head seemed to start clipping (the power clip light flickers, *not* the preamp clip light) at much lower power levels, which unsettles me.

Does anyone have any insight?

Sounds like the classic symptoms of a bad solder joint(s). Probably something in the power feed/filter/transformer section. Time to RMA or send it in for service.
