Bump to the OP - that's me. The wide variety of connection options on the back of the DB 680 are useful and practical. I can't see a good reason to not include them again in a new Aguilar product. As an example, some of the connection options on the back of the DB 750 were deleted on the DB 751 - why limit the connection options on newer products (like the DB 751 ) when the engineering has already been done to include the connection options ?
It's a given that all my words are heavily opinion based (that's at least part of what we do here) . I gig with a DB 680 and I love its tone and connection options. It goes without saying that many bass players want/need to travel light hence my suggestion for power amp integration. I'm a dedicated fan and user of Aguilar gear regardless of what you folks at Aguilar offer.
Cheers (or Salud as we say in Spanish),
EDIT-The crossover system could be skipped on a newer Aguilar product. And, let's see an Aux. input on the back - like for an mp3 player for example.

This thread is about wanting a high-power 680-based class D head from Aguilar, let's stay focused. |

Am sure some other places still have one in stock, plus the prices will be nicer in the US of course!

Or even better a dual channel head that has two identical channels, so you can have two clean, two OD, or OD and clean, along with one of them mix knobs.
And get dude from Shadow Hills to design the looks of it.

Class D amp with the DB 751 Pre (or the 680) combined with a at least 750-900 W power amp section.
I would buy it instantly to replace my Epifani stuff
oh...and we need lighter cabs (I'm not talking about the SL ones) - today there a many companys who can offer great sounding 4x10's or 2x12's in that 55 lbs range - why not Aguilar ?!
I would love to have one lighter Aguilar cab in one of this sexy colours

750 - 1000 watts would rule. |

To get into the "light weight" cab territory you have to source and use lighter thinner wood. Then brace it properly, then use lightweight drivers, and if you want it to sound good you pick premium ones. All that adds up and really narrows margins. Quote:

Modern size and weight... it doesn't need to be a mini or compact.
