Don't feel bad...Tube or not....25 watts is NOT powerful enough unless all you want to do is practice....IMO

Also, your wife said "you are not allowed"...WOW can't even reply respectfully to that.

Good Luck in your search

S Austin Davis,
Well, I think I'll have to agree with her, at least in principal. Sorry, but that's kind of steep for a SB-12, in that condition at least, IMHO. I've seen them, frequently for less than that. Just my opinion though. I would think you could get one for @$700.00-$800.00 if you are patient. Personally, I'd be more interested in a B-15 anyway. They've got the beef. SB stands for String Bass and I owned one. They don't sound bad as practice amp for electric, but there not powerful and the cabinet is a single baffle with a CTS speaker.

To be fair I only play bass as a hobby, not as a pro, so to spend that much on an amp that gets played for fun would be a little over the top. My entire rig cost me about that much. She is pretty lenient on me spending money on music stuff as long as it actually gets used for actual gigging and/or at church.

+1, anybody mature enough to get married need not be told about financial responsibility. And if that's not what or how the SO communicate, don't act like a victim.

$300 for my '68 in 6/10 condition. After changing filter caps and taking it to a tech to check out a few other issues, it remains almost all original. I've also managed to use mine for some church related purposes! Keep an eye out and you'll find yours

That's not true and you know it. Plenty of people get married that are neither mature enough to be a husband/wife, nor are they financially responsible. I would probably never spend that much on an amp because I know that I can't really justify it, but I'm allowed to dream aren't it? I thought I was making a joke, but apparently some people are WAY too bitter about long term commitment and/or marriage to understand that.
