I just discovered fEARful DIY cabs, and now I'm obsessing. By the New year, a 15/6 and 15 sub will be behind me on stage, no doubt.

I've been searching hard for these plan answers:

--"Baltic Birch" is all I've been hearing about; can cheaper ply from Home Depot be used?

--What's that little 6" 18Sound gonna knock me back?

--Has anyone weighed their 15/6 (I know, YMMV). But are we talking 50?? 100??

--Someone tell me that little 6" will be worth the bread, and why. (A 6" driver with two 15" seems so insignificant...)

--My preference is Arauco from Lowes
--150 bucks or so
--50-60lbs
--Yes, worth every penny. Necessary with the 3015LF.

A little 6" speaker that can match output with two of the most monstrous 15's on the market? Sounds like its well worth ~150$ That little six inch speaker is also the reason this cabinet has off axis response that crushes the competition.

i completed my fEARful build TODAY, with delivery of that lil 6" speaker, i'm using it with 2 of them monstrous 15's too, its truly amazing what it adds to the sound and dispersion, no exaggeration, my amp has never sounded so good with zeroed settings (all EQ centred, all voicing options to their off position)

if your going for a 15/6 with the 15sub you are in for a real treat

Gonna be a mennil-toss flykune

Hey, I'm up by Glacier National Park. But I'm a lot further from Billings - and yet a lot closer - than you may suspect. In fact, see the links in my sig.
