Impedance question for AVATAR B410 Neo

Sign in to disble this ad
I have an Avatar B410 Neo cab (8 ohm). If I replaced one of the speakers, would that speaker have to be an 8 ohm speaker as well? (EMINENCE DELTALITE NEO 10")

Hummm. Either all speakers are 32 ohm, or it is wired series/parallel. Or something else. OK Brain fart

It must be an Avatar OEM, they're not the same as stock.

I figured that someone here knew off hand the impedance of the individual speakers or whether the speakers in the 8 ohm B410 Neo cabs are wired in series or parallel.
The wiring diagram on the Avatar site (Wiring Diagrams) confuses me a little. It shows a 16 ohm version (which they don't offer), an 8 ohm version, but not a 4 ohm version which is an option they do offer.

Got a good offer on two almost new ones, taken out from a 4 ohm B210. Otherwise, re-cone of course.
After more research it appears that the B410s (8 0hm version) are loaded with 8 ohm speakers.
Thank you all for your advice.

Just in general - YES - All the speakers in such a cab have to be the same impedance, whatever it is.

If the 4 driver 8 Ohm cab has 8 Ohm drivers - they must be wired as 2 sets of 2 drivers in parallel for 4 Ohms, then the two pairs in series = 8 Ohms.
