Input jack--> headphones?

Hey there. I wasn't sure which forum to put this in, so please move it if this is the wrong place. I'm looking for the small "amp"? that can plug into your input jack, and you plug headphones into that to hear yourself play. I can't think of what these are called. I need one cause I don't want to bring a small practice amp to school and take that out every time I want to practice for 20 mins between classes.

Anyone know what I'm talking about? I know I saw one advertised in a Bass Player magazine once. Thanks for your help, and sorry for being so vague.

There's another called "Pockit-Rockit" that's also great and around the same price. Has an aux input for iPod or whatever as well as limited cheapo distortion effect.
