Intersting CL find (SVT content.)

So I stumbled upon this in my local craigslist.

It is a vintage SVT that at some point was turned into a power amp. It has no preamp or eq controls, but I have a really nice DHA vt 1 that could work as my preamp for the unit. I think it would be a really sick combo.

This issue is how to I house the power amp to make it road worthy?

www.fliptops.net sells svt boxes. but man, that's really bizarre. why would he do that and what did he do with the pre?

Would it be hard to mount in the box? I am not a handy man....

I have no idea...I was going to call him today and see what he says.
Do you think it is a "stay away" bizarre? The guys is asking $350 does that seem reasonable?

Really I just thought I would be unique to have. I really like the sound of the DHA VT1 so the combo could be the ideal all tube head for me....
Maybe have a custom box built for it? Frankentube...
