iPod & Headphones w/ amp & cab

HI all,

I have a Hartke HA4000 and Peavey 1820 cab. For the purposes of practice, I was wondering if there was a way to pipe an iPod to speaker and be able to listen to both the amp (bass) and iPod at the same time through headphones. Basically the same setup that many of the combo amps have these days. Note the Hartke does not have a headphone jack. I have a little Peavey PV8 mixer. I can pipe the iPod thru the mixer and then to the second input jack on the cab and that works, just not super loud. If I try and pipe the amp through the mixer (so I can use the headphones), the signal is extremely distorted.

why not just use the mixer.. no amp.. headphone out

+1 It's the easiest and probably cheapest way.
