Last week, my friends and I saw maiden and it was an incredible experience. we were on the left side of the stage and before the show, I could see steve harris and his tech check his bass rig. I have never been that close to his equipment and being a massive steve harris fan this was a big deal for me. Does anyone have any new information regarding his amps. I remember reading he is now using a custom made ashdown. Thanks for the help

I don't know if any of those things are part of his gear today.

I don't know if any of those things are part of his gear today. | IIRC, he use the TE pre in the 90s, but he phased it out and now uses his Electron preamp mostly (based on a Hiwatt 200W solid state head). Quote:

I took my oldest son last time they were in Denver and we had orchestra pit seats. Still amazing.
And we kept wondering why they would always congregate on our side of the stage, we were sitting right in front of Dave Murray. I finally turned atound to see the absolute hottest 6' tall blond wearing next to nothing standing about three feet behind me in the pit.
So yes Jimmy, hot chicks to go to Maiden shows. Not many, but there are some.

my wife has more maiden Lps than me, but I have more of the rarities. She's the best. & fully supports all my musical endeavors.
I saw them (IM) again for the '05 "early years" campaign, (full euro show, that they only played twice in north america = an off date on the ozzfest tour) playing cuts from the first four Lps only.
I don't ever need to see them again. They played ALL my absolute favorite material and it was done phenominally.
steve (and geddy) are the reason I'm here (and play bass).
PS: It IS great to see the younger gen into maiden, f'n excellent!...forget the immitators, you're at the source.

| | | | My girlfriend and I were Iron Maiden fans since way before we even met 4 and 1/2 years ago. I got to see Iron Maiden and Dream Theatre in Michigan over the summer, and it made me realize that Iron Maiden doesn't have a real fan stereotype. I saw 60+ fans screaming just as loud as the 14 year old beside them! hell, My dear girl and I went to the show along with her dad (36), my dad (50), and my mother (46). we were all huge Maiden fanatics. |

I was this close to Steve Harris! It was an awe inspiring experience. I regret not catching them when they came around very recently. Harris is still the man! As far as chicks at Maiden shows, I'm sure it happens. Who wouldn't want to see Harris' fast fingered gallop?
