Issue with GK Backline 600

Sign in to disble this ad
Hi everybody,

I apologize if this particular issue has been covered somewhere else, but I could not find anything relating to it.

I have the GK Backline 600 hooked up to an Acoustic 4x10 cab.

For those of you familiar with the amp, you know that it has the Level A (clean), Level B (Overdrive), and Master volume controls. I can crank the Master volume, but as soon as I take Level A to 50%, it turns into a distorted farting sound, no matter what the master volume is set at. If I bring it back down to 49% the sound returns to a normal clean, and the clip light is not turning on.

So I ask you, all-knowing TB community... can any of you shed any light on this issue for me?!

Any help would be so greatly appreciated.

I set it essentially flat, with Boost and Contour both at about 15%

Well....the manual says don't turn "A" past 1:00 unless you want overdrive. I've only used a 600 a few times at backline supplied gigs though.

i just used one and lbwdog is 100% correct. i experienced exactly what you experienced when i cranked it. that is how it's made and it's supposed to do that. if you don't want it, just turn down level a.

OK. Thanks very much guys. I just wanted to make sure there wasn't a problem with my amp. As usual this place is always the best!
