I've found my tone, now I want to feel it

Since I began playing I've undergone a few backline changes but have pretty much found everything I'd like tone-wise in my Carvin BR610. I've been playing a few higher profile shows lately with shared backline and have gotten to play through a few tube SVT/810 stacks and a Fender Pro 300/610 stack. I'm not too fond of the tone, a bit too loose for my tastes, but I love being able to feel the bass when I play, especially on some larger stages. Is there a way to increase the dB level without significantly altering the tone? I'm considering racking the head out of my combo and going with a 610 for the larger gigs, then just set the 210 aside for smaller gigs.

More speakers of the same design. Due to the fact that the SAPL is logarithmic, you will get some smoothing of yrou FR curve as you add more drivers.

Alternatively, very alternatively at that, TecAmp makes a thing called a Pleasure pad(and a pleasure pump) that is a vibrating square you stand on that make sit "feel" liek you are plaing with a much larger cab without producing sound.

I have a BR615. It will do 600W at 2 ohms. For more Db I'd go with a 4ohm extension cab. Get a 4x10 and set the combo on top of it. (Personally, I'd do with a 1x18 but I get what your talking about as far as speaker size goes.)

I think that 'feel' you experienced is the main reason why so many guys here dig those tube-powered bass heads you used, especially when played loud enough so the transformers & power tubes are giving you that cool/natural compression effect.

You could probably get a closer simulation by with different gear, but I dont think you'll trully ever duplicate that special feel by using any other cab with a solid-state power section...
